I am passionate about seeing photography in print. In a world where images are often momentarily flicked through in the palm of a hand or computer screen, print is a format where we can engage with the depth and detail of a scene unrestricted by time or distraction.

It is for this reason that reason that I wanted to make high quality prints as accessible as possible and have thus far made all my print sales open edition (as opposed to limited edition). This means the number of prints is not limited, and I can keep the pricing a lot lower. The majority of my images are available for print - however the print store takes time to populate, so if you have an image in mind from my portfolio or social media feeds but it is not in the print store - please feel free to get in touch.

ARCHIVAL PAPER PRINTS

All paper prints up to A2 size are printed, checked and quality assured by myself, and every image is individually printed to order from my base at ARBOR GALLERY in the Cairngorms in the Highlands of Scotland. Each Paper print comes with the image name in the bottom left and my Niven Photography e-signature in the bottom for right to ensure authenticity. 

Prints are not trimmed to allow for flexibility when framing/mounting; therefore, there will be a white border of minimum 0.75 inch / 190mm (See product image). Frames and/or ‘passe-partouts’ / mounts are not included (though each print will have a white border which can be used). The range of printed image sizes available are specifically offered to be used with commonly found frame sizes. *NB. Mock-up frame images are to give examples of how your prints might look in a frame and in various settings - these are not to scale.

PRINTER / INK

All images are professionally printed with superb detail and colour using the Canon Pro1000 Photo printer using the “LUCIA PRO 12-ink” system’s broader colour gamut and fine-tuned detail.

PAPER

Fotospeed Platinum Baryta 300 is 100% acid-free, Fine Art paper with a smooth unglazed gloss surface. A natural white base and state of the art micro-porous ink receiving layer delivers a high D-MAX (2.7) and wide colour gamut. Platinum Baryta 300 reveals delicate highlights and smooth transitions to shadows for both colour and B&W printing. The paper is approved by the Fine Art Trade Guild and It is used in conjunction with pigment inks ensuring a print life of more than 85 years.

PACKAGING

All prints are packaged in rigid cardboard envelopes with additional cardboard backing ensuring they arrive with you in perfect condition. They are further protected by a bio-degradable clear sleeve. A2 prints and prints being sent out-with UK are posted in a rigid poster tube.

FRAMING FOR A4 / A3 /A2 PRINTS

I can provide framing up to A2 size for my print production at ARBOR GALLERY. These are sourced from a trusted local framer and largely come with a black wooden frame and off white mount. I also make my own bespoke oak frames. As these products come with glass fronts I cannot ship them (please see Framed Paper Prints for Shipping option below)

SHIPPING

Shipping costs for items sent within UK for all products is free! For all prints sent from ARBOR GALLERY - UK Royal Mail Tracked 48 is used. Shipping to Europe, North America and other locations - pricing depends on destination and product. Whilst every effort will be made to ensure the prints cannot be damaged through increased protective packaging unless full tracking and courier is selected, no responsibility can be taken for the postal services lateness or any damage incurred to the prints in transit.

A1 PRINTS

These are sourced from Loxley Colour Printers and sent directly to you. I have worked with Loxley for many years - one of the best print labs in the sector to which I trust to reproduce my work as it should be. Please note - A1 print prices include VAT and shipping costs.

ART PANELS

I have been printing on Art Panels for many years as they give a great alternative to traditional framing. They give a more contemporary finish but with equal quality and detail. The image prints right to the edge (or sometimes with a border with image name and signature) with a subtle black edge band for a classic display. They come in a mid sheen finish but without the glare of glass to distract and can be wiped clean if required without effecting the printed image.

FRAMED PAPER PRINTS FOR SHIPPING

If you are not able to make it to ARBOR GALLERY in person or wish to specifically have framed prints sent directly to yourself or as a a gift then I source these through Loxley Colour Printers and Framers. I ensure the highest grade Fotospeed 300 Baryta Gloss finish and use matt black frame with off white mounts. Image name and my Niven Photography e-signature are still provided. 

Please note: these products use high quality Acrylic instead of glass which means they are able to be shipped. You may notice the prices of these 3rd party products are a good bit more than ordering direct from my gallery, I try to keep my process as accessible as possible but some print products do cost more. These products do include VAT and any postage costs however.
